Little too late by Levi Byrd

I had a dream that someone that looked like her was my girlfriend

How pretty she looked when she was reading
And her favorite outfit was a blue turtle neck and pants that were too long
I realized too late that I loved her

In my dream she laughed at my hair cut

I remember the jealousy I had when she was talking to her other best friend

But now looking back I know that’s not the jealousy you feel for a friend

I’m realizing now too late that I loved her more than a friend

  1. Loretta, I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn’t know this either, but love don’t make things nice – it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren’t here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and *die*. The storybooks are *bullshit*. Now I want you to come upstairs with me and *get* in my bed!

  3. The pain I feel knowing it’s
To late to change to rearrange has never been this real
It’s never burned to the core like it does now
The time has come and gone to make amends to make it all better
The only thing is the end who knew it be this close to the heart the relief of finally doing something right sometimes makes amends
But it’s to late to make a change to rearrange
The time has come to just be at the end
